Paramount Pictures teams up with Marvel to exclusively distribute comic book films for the next several years.
The deal started in 2008 with the mega hit film Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. The superhero blockbuster exploded at the box office, raking in more than $580 million worldwide. Marvel and Paramount Pictures have more than a half dozen other projects in the wings with the next title coming next summer.
Iron Man 2 (May 7, 2010) is the next title on the list from Paramount Pictures and Marvel with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark. Sameul L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury, Gwyeneth Paltrow reprises her role as Pepper Potts. Scarlett Johanssson, Mickey Rourke and Don Cheadle also join the cast in the new film. Plot details about the film aren't known as of yet.
Ant Man (2010)
Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.
Nick Fury (2010)
A daring amateur boxer from Hells Kitchen is recruited by the Army for some top-secret assignments. He soon is promoted to captain, where he puts together the First Attack Squad, a group of elite soldiers who carry out elite missions.

The First Avenger: Captain America (July 22, 2011)
Based on the Marvel Comics character from the second World War, a mild-mannered young soldier named Steve Rogers volunteers for a special Super Soldier program for the US Army. Donning the colors of Old Glory, Captain America leapt into the hearts and souls of every American bringing hope and justice to a war-weary nation.

The Avengers (May 4, 2012)
Iron Man director Jon Favreau will executive produce, while Robert Downey, Jr. and Don Cheadle will play Iron Man and War Machine, respectively. So far, the confirmed team members are Iron Man, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and Thor. The film's writer, Zak Penn (co-writer of The Incredible Hulk film), cited Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's Ultimates version of the team as inspiration for the story. In February 2009 Samuel L. Jackson signed a nine picture deal with Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures to play Nick Fury in Iron Man II, Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, The Avengers and their respective sequels. In March 2009 Scarlett Johansson signed on to play Black Widow in both Iron Man II and The Avengers.
